Regarding Life-drive versus the enigmatic Death-drive, these difficulties, though very remote in time, arose in tracing the steps of this staircase downward toward ancient times, where this problem is most likely hidden. Thus, the solution to Life-drive versus Death-drive likely lies in the very first life forms that arose billions of years ago. Most people who have encountered this ancient problem believe that a life form that expresses only Life-drive should be completely superior to one that expresses both Life-drive and Death-drive.

To approach a solution to this problem, it should first be noted that very little in the visible world remains constant over time. It therefore seems important that a life form be equipped with an advanced method for surviving changes in a strange and often dangerous environment. The Life-drive encompasses all organic and positive behavioural factors that promote an individual's longevity. The death-drive, by contrast, uses the species' restricted lifespans to promote its survival within the constraints of the habitat's limited resources. Since time immemorial, the death-drive has often been viewed in a strangely ominous light due to its fateful role in transmitting a life-limiting, unconscious genetic legacy to the individual's genome. Although this unconscious behaviour within the death-drive's DNA reinforce the species' striving to protect itself from ecological collapse, culture often meets it with deep suspicion. Despite the death-drive often seeming ominous, it lacks all intellectual strength; its fatality is not by any conscious, insidious intent. Instead, death-drive appears as a completely autonomous yet strangely grim messenger, delivering an unconscious and life-limiting DNA legacy to the individuals of the species. At the same time, the death drive can be understood as a paradox: on one hand, there is the species' evident need to persist in an environment of limited resources; on the other, there is the contradictory manner in which the death drive—cynically and mercilessly—seems to sustain this existence by activating DNA that is fundamentally at odds with the individual's Life-drive. Here, the death-drive serves the species' purpose by letting the environment's relentless demands weed out individuals whose DNA is incompatible with the species' requirements, given the economy of the environment's resources.

As a result, isolated regions of this habitat have distinct genetic requirements because each landscape imposes unique local restrictions. Therefore, whether on the country's mountainside or within its secluded gorge, the landscape's uniqueness determines the species' historically imprinted pedigree and genetic heritage. Here, the unconscious death-drive reveals its crucial advantages: species that reproduce rapidly and possess an environmentally balanced, limited lifespan—prioritizing the rate of evolution—become more viable in a changing environment. From these conclusions follows the premise that it would be highly maladaptive for the species to possess, if its individuals had the intellectual capacity to perceive their own unconscious, compulsive inclinations toward the inevitable demise of the individual. Indeed, such self-insight into the death-drive's secrets and its wrongdoings in one's inherited life would inflict continuous trauma, creating such deep and severe conflict in consciousness that it would ultimately lead to a fatal destiny for themselfes and, in the end, even for the species. It should therefore be obvious why this primordial struggle between life and death is regarded as beyond human power; instead, since the dawn of time, this struggle has been ascribed to a realm forbidden to humanity—where it lies unreachable within the domain of the hidden "Power of its celestial religions".
