Dreams' Gate to Grande Twilight Adventures

A Canyon for Adventurous Hike
with
Guiding Paths and Wildlife

This mysterious but inviting twilight cleft with its fort ruin (38) - (B) constitutes the actual gate to the Canyon (B) - (14). However, equipped with a cosy glade above the precipice, this cliffhanging ruin's site offers some unique, charming picnic opportunities. Therefore, this Canyon dominates the landscape in many ways and is an excellent place for a well-equipped family to appreciate unforgettable adventures. However, this Canyon (B) - (35) - (14) also provides the most pleasant magical mountain views, with sights along the paths of its higher slopes that offer an utterly captivating nature. This visible clarity in the appearance and selection of trails is apparent here thanks to the attractive overview of the sculptural introduction towards this very family-friendly Canyon and river (35) - (B) - (14) and its paths that ultimately deviate along the tributary creek (36) - (14).

A Canyon of Grandeur & Beauty Towards the High Plateau
The trails towards the first contact with the southern rim of the high plateau (41 - 42) - (14) follow a clear upward direction on Entoto's mountain massif. This visible clarity in the appearance and selection of trails is apparent here, thanks to the attractive overview of the sculptural introduction of this family-friendly upper slope of the Canyon. Due to the visual contact with the Canyon (35) - (B) towards tributary creek (36) - (14) appear, both a dramatic allure and a mighty visual guide in the landscape. Furthermore, the paths in the landscape are straightforward and attractive, including all these exciting and surprisingly attractive paths along and above the eastern slope of the Canyon.

Adventurous Canyon Hiking

For the more adventurous who prefer to face the storm in the wilderness of the Park, some severe precautions prevail. Due to these rainstorms being very powerful, precautions follow all types of stay near the river banks, which express their danger in indicatory warnings by the riverbanks' classical formations. These beautifully sculptural formations reveal the Canyon's and the gorges' historic high water flow and give signs during thunderstorms to avoid these dangerous water imprints with the highest priority. This fact of the inexorably savage forces of the water should therefore cause exposed hikers to immediately seek out higher ground above the ruthless water flow of the gorges.

** Caution: Season Limited Canyon Hiking (B) - (14)

When some months have elapsed since the last rainy season, hiking the Canyon's dry creek bed is possible without the risk of an unexpected torrential flashflow. Indeed, the Canyon's twilight mystique can be an exhilarating experience but not an easy choice. Here, the shadows fall mysteriously as pesky creatures from the past in concealed cliff apertures with overwhelming impressions. Hence, hiking within the twilight depths of the Canyon's cleft (B) - (14) offers a unique adventure and Nature. Caution: Wild Animals

Hiking Towards Waterways and Enigmatic Ruins

Picnics & Baths
A Mountainous Picnic Site with Dramatic Views.
After following upwards from point (37) - [A] to the highest bend of this guiding coarser water pipe appears the site of magnificent views over the Valley [A]. This path is a short section, deviating some tens of metres from the path upwards to reach the ruin of the Italian fort (38) - (B) and its water facility. This place opens into an attractive clearing on a high cliff ledge, thereby characterizing the place's high-lying drama. However, the underground water fort is also fascinating and thus appeals to picnics with fantastic views and an entertaining exploration.

** Caution: It is clear that the site of (38) - (B) has a steep precipice towards the Valley [A] and thereby requires a cautious alert. Still, this offers extra pleasure in grande views, thus giving the picnics or the hike extraordinary value. Furthermore, this place (38) - (B) constitutes the initial gate to the Canyon's water flow, requiring Caution during the rainy season's dangerous torrential deluges.

Seasons for Hilarious Baths or Hiking

CAUTION: The Canyon's Watergate

Although this ruin (38) - (B) and high river-dell also invite the river's gate towards the Twilight Canyon, some alerts should remain. Since this mountain's natural gate to the Canyon is the fundamental cataract receiving cliff-ledge of the Canyon's accumulated water flow, a cautious approach is appropriate to treat this watergate. Furthermore, the continuing close contact with the deeper region of the gorge's profoundly rising uphill and chiselled waterway within the Canyon often appears scary and dangerous. The more secure choice for visitors to the Canyon's deep cleft and family's adventure entrance is higher on the Canyon's mountainside (36) within the map loop (14). Here are a few delightful, inviting glades within the Canyon where the visitors encounter splendid views, especially this tributary (36), whose numerous deep spatial overviews enrich the cosy natural atmosphere.

Exciting Exploration with Picnic and Waterfall

This relatively highly located, picnic-inspiring grass glade at (38) - (B), with its hidden rock fortress, gives a very expectant feeling by being closely connected to the waterfall of the precipice. However, the waterfall is usually very inviting in its flow because its power is dampened with a harmonious weir with a spillway overflow. Although built in today's traditional decaying concrete, this alluring mountain ruin and Fortress (38) - (B) can give gifted researchers an excellent stimulation discovery of the importance of water technology. This construction works impressively as an entertaining and enjoyable bridge to the opposite side of the valley of this exciting and thoroughly inviting, water-flowing cliff dwelling.

The trail runs attractively behind the Entoto Kidane Mehret's Sanctuary (32) in a concealed curve below its wall. Thus, the absolute proximity to clean flowing water is often a factor for the excellent amusement adventure well stimulated by the landscape's high drama at this charmingly secluded mountain site (38) - (B). However, careful and prudent distance is required while walking at this potentially dangerous and dizzying precipice, shown within the lower section of the map loop (B). This dramatic cliff passage is the deviating and captivating cliff path to this concealed and lofty site with its characters of high drama in a cosy, entertaining atmosphere. Hence, this forgotten cliff ruin appears as a charming invitation and an adventure where spectators in thrilling expectation and pleasure become seduced by embracing the mountain's high thresholds.

The Assistance Of Paths' Directions
An Inviting Guide to the Mountain

The superficial water-conducting metal pipe (37) - [A] assists the mountain hike where its apparent suitability begins on the slope above the valley [A]. This place is easily reached from below the valley [A] with comfortable passing between a couple of cottages before it continues and reaches a gentle high level on the mountain's shoulder. Just before the Italian fortification (38) - (B) appears a theatrical view and potentially dangerous abyss a few metres to the left of the path. This precipitous view is within the lower map loop (B) regions and includes route deviation in three choices. The pipeline makes its high northern bend just to the right of (38) - (B). Just at this upper and most north turn of the pipeline, the path deviates from the pipeline in a threshold of the uphill steeper path that gives the direction to most hiking routes.

Adventure History

"Entoto's climate during the rainy season was far from pleasant, for it suffered from many storms. A French traveller, Jules Borelli, states that it was a place of much lightning, thunder and fog, while his compatriot, Charles Michel, remarked that ''exposed to the wind, difficult to access, and without drinking water'' (Ibid, p.103).

Photographs
These photos of water-filled streams and cascading waterfalls were shot just above Bees' Cliff (14) at Entoto's southern highland plateau from early October to November. Therefore, it has been about one to two months since the long rainy season ended for all these active water sports photographs.

Harmonic Currents Along the River

**Caution During Rainy Seasons

Since all streams around Entoto run up within a short distance to the highest part of the plateau, there is no risk of being surprised by far and accumulated sudden river flow from an unknown range. There is no known weakness in the deep rock pools that could constitute a magazine water mass just waiting to break through a weak point in the cliff bottom. However, no person should walk on the riverbanks of the ravines in the aftermath of heavy rain, as this poses an immediate danger to life. A mistake on slippery ground can be fatal despite the apparent alert about the fast water flow. This torrential force along the river banks can quickly take a person or their pet beyond rescue in the relentless power of a rushing water flow.

Cliff-Hiding Ruins and Furrowed Trees from Lost Aeons

However, for visitors with active outdoor life, this mountain's undulated hillside allures in pleasure for exploring historical surprises with old Italian fortifications (38) - (B) and trees of a surprisingly dignified furrowed patina within the map loop (B)The open and pleasant contact of the lush hillsides of the Canyon with its river banks towards the river begins at the map loop (B). This mysterious twilight cleft is apparent and an excellent place for the well-equipped family. Appreciating this Canyon is unforgettable, even thrilling in adventures, and often comes with the most pleasant magical mountain views, where cosy picnic places offer an utterly captivating nature.

careful behaviour is prudent for sensitive people with

Close Encounter With Playing Baboon Families
While this place is unique in many ways, there are also reservations about the impact people can exert on its nature. Because this site contains what is desirable for people and wildlife, the result is that a conflict of interest and living space can occur. The paths up to Bees' Cliff (14) offer several options: the northern hillside of the tributary gorge (36), the southern slope of (38-39) - (15-16) and (41) - (42) within the map loop (14).

Caution: Hyena, Trauma and Accident Risks
It would, therefore, be possible for a person who slips and lies demobilized, hidden and injured in the shady creek bed may, at last, after a few days, attract Hyenas to become directly fatal. They can become mighty animals, especially females in close contact with muscular strength, resembling brown bears in a slightly reduced size. However, hyenas lack rabies virus symptomatic disease; thereby, such danger is unknown.

Absolute Caution with Injuries and Liquor

Since the relationship between humans and Hyenas is ancient, mutual peace has evolved, and even children are naturally left untouched by Hyenas. The Hyenas can show curiosity toward humans but are usually cautious and restrained. On the other hand, Hyenas have been seen as highly interested in sick or heavily intoxicated people, just regarding this as something different from humans and therefore not included in the ancient consensus of mutual respect.

Water: Water must be available all year round, and 2 litres of water in rugged bottles are recommended for these Canyon adventures. Most of the brooks dry out sometime during the year. However, a few springs within the park area provide water for all seasons. Rain Season: There are two rainy seasons per year: the minor rains from March to May and the big rains from July to September. The highest rainfall intensity occurs in July and August (Demissew 1988). Practical Hiking Notes from the Park

Although this Italian ruin was built in today's decaying concrete, the renovation of this mountain fortress (38) - (B) can stimulate an excellent foundation for a historical discovery of the lost recipe for Roman concrete. This potential rediscovery of ancient concrete with this lost high technology and historical treasure from antiquity would offer a scientific study of Roman technology within an educational project. Although this historical concrete's millennia-old secrets still prevail as a crucial investigation of international laboratories, its deepest secrets persist. Therefore, this research attracts many scientists to unlock forgotten knowledge about this ancient high technology's excellent properties to maintain immense strength over aeons in harsh conditions and flowing water. Thus, significant positive environmental factors could be obtained because Roman concrete maintained and increased its core strength through the millennia, unlike modern concrete.

Adventures Among Waterfall and Fortress
This mountainous fortress facility (38) - (B) was built in the late thirties in an attempt by the invading Italian forces to gain control with a strategically significant overview of the Capital and the landscape. However, since the site offers great drama on the elevated ledge in the landscape, there are also some precautions about absolute contact with the directly hazardous precipice down to the valley [A]. The site's magnificent upland topography and the site's (38) - (B) large pool and spill-water weir at the waterfall's precipice encourage stimulus and consideration of reconstructing the facility for adventure tourism.

Waterfalls Among Ruins and Mountain Pools
This mountain site (38) - (B) is dramatically located on the mountainside, with complete contact with splendid panoramic views. The varied nature drama and surroundings, including the spillway waterfall, adorn this Italian fortress' patinated architecture. [CAUTION] - A Canyon of Ordeals

Note that the Canyon is dramatic and deep, where the family on an excursion should avoid the tiring adventure tours beyond cautious behaviour. This cautious observance in the family's daily routine regards the family's well-being and pleasure due to the Canyon's demanding terrain. Therefore, Do Not Combine the family today's new mountain adventure on the same day with tiring and exhausting fluttering trips between the Canyon and high plateau adventure. This caution is crucial because the impressions from each place are just at the upper limits of what a person can muster.

Entoto Kidane Meret Sanctuary (32), with its Church and Monastery, is family-friendly, gently, and dramatically hidden into the mountain massif's rising shoulder. However, a dizzying perception due to gorges soon arises and demands care for young families. Security precautions are necessary immediately, and then it's possible to walk away astray from this cosy Entoto Kidane Mehret (1) mountain town and Sanctuary (32) while following the gorgeous path (5) behind the Sanctuary.

**Enchanting Lush Attractions in the Canyon's Abyss

The Canyon depth constitutes a hidden, unknown challenge, which can become a real danger and often does not allow direct, easy proximity from either the east or the west side of the Canyon's slopes. These precipitous cliff sides are so seriously too steep that all visual contact toward the bottom of the abyss is impossible. In all their Nature, a multi-dimensional, graceful beauty is nevertheless a false invitation of safety delivered. Through this deceiving natural trickery, the eastern canyon's slope gives an impression of invitingly lush beauty but a treacherous one with a fertile green breathtaking threshold, hiding a shocking void.

Safety Preparations & Unique Adventures

Qualifications and care are necessary as the hiking trails are either unusually varied or dramatic in their diversity propagation up to Entoto's high plateau. No concealed walk in the dry creek bed should be done without company, depending on the possible risk of injury, fatigue, or heart fragility. Still, at least one more person is required in this type of concealed seasonal hiking. At least two litres of water per person in unbreakable bottles is a minimum for these Highlands adventures to Bees' Cliff.
