Accommodation and Transportation
Shero Meda (Shiromeda) Community
The nearest location to the guest house, hotel, restaurants and amenities for tourism and dining is the Shero Meda (Shiromeda) community. However, since this central community and central station are pretty extensive, their accommodation options extend clearly both south and north of the indication in the lower section of this map and the satellite image shown just above. Continuing up to the mountain massif and Entoto Natural Park, this offers an exclusive selection of accommodations. Shero Meda (Shiromeda) also allows the most convenient access to Entoto Park (Z) and Entoto Maryam (43), a highly venerated historical site, located on Entoto's plateau. Thus, the Shero Meda (Shiromeda) community in the Capital's northern district provides a central station for other taxi and bus services to the Capital's city centre, as well as a direct taxi connection to Entoto Park (Z), Entoto Maryam (43), and Entoto Kidane Mehret (1). However, the town and station Shero Meda are close enough to Entoto Kidane Mehret (1) to offer a pleasant walk to Entoto Natural Park.  Accommodation and Food Services

Refined Culture and Entertainment
The historical Entoto mountain massif is now being fashionably enlivened by the newly inaugurated Entoto Park, with its main entrance marked on the maps with (Z). Beyond the site's chic and glamorous comfort, the landscape's high drama ennobles it with a flavour of exploration. Hence, the adventure's core allure lies in a gorgeous highland, with enticing activities and inviting facilities, including many restaurants offering traditional and modern fare.

Dreams' Nature among the Amusements
With breathtaking miles of mountain ranges and dagger-deep ravines, this fashionable Park is always near amazing and wild adventures. The Capital is immediate here, but surprisingly remote through the Park's elevated rocky ledge on the mountain massif. Here, these citadels of grandeur and pleasure invite fashionable activities for the entire family to enjoy, whether in the gardens or on adventurous excursions.

The Mountainous Activities Of Entoto Natural Park

With Amusements or Secluded Serenity

Except for the glamorous drama and fashionable amusements with modern facilities and a variety of restaurants at Entoto Park (Z), this mighty southern mountainside offers history and culture at the Sanctuary of Entoto Kidane Mehret (32) and on the high plateau Entoto Maryam (43), where authentic old serenity, this ancient highland mountain lures visitors intriguingly with its enticing beauty. Hence, offers secluded serenity, enhancing the cosy tranquillity of the adorable Sanctuaries (32) and (43) - two historical places that also evoke a sense of exploration and adventure. Yet, there are cosily beautiful places for the family, such as Entoto Kidane Mehret's adorable valley [A] and its seductively sculptural river dell. With its bridge crossing, the gully and its valley [A] below Entoto Kidane Mehret's Sanctuary (32) initiate the view of the rising mountainside. In profound veneration and reverence, Entoto's massif rises majestically over the southern slope, towering high above the Capital and with its relatively high altitude providing a stunning, miles-wide view over and far beyond the busy metropolitan area. Caution is therefore an essential foundation for preparation because the mountain's rise is quite dramatic and may be a little too much of an ordeal for any family if the intention is a prolonged hike adventure, starting from the valley [A] and continuing beyond the stunning views along the threshold of the high plateau, extending gorgeously at (14) - (16) but also offering high plateau paths, beginning from (43) - (34) towards (42) - (14) - (16).

           **[CAUTION] -

A Nightlife of Adventure & Ordeals

The Park's Activities and the Capital
Caution Regarding Dusk Adventure
Note that the landscape is dramatic and vastly extends deeply into the wilderness. Hence, caution prevails after twilight, particularly on tours that extend beyond the sight of facilities into the mountain landscape. This cautious observance is aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of the people due to the presence of active night predators and demanding terrain. Therefore, do not combine the Park trip with the twilight adventure because even in the daytime, the impressions from each place are just at the upper limits of what even a passionate or sporty person can muster.

Safety and Transportation
Thus, those who want safety without too hilariously wild, mountain-demanding adventure can choose public transport (taxi) at a reasonable time before dusk. This regular taxi route provides easy transportation from the mountainside at the Park's gates (Z), (1), (32), and (43) to the nearest guest house, hotels with amenities for tourism and dining in the Shero Meda (Shiromeda) community, and further to the Capital itself, of course.

A Highland Park with Culture and History

Mountain Towns: Gates to Adventures

Although Entoto Park (Z) allures with great activities and Entoto Maryam (43) with its museum and palace, Entoto Kidane Mehret (1) instead entices as the base for the wild and adventurous hikes and falls naturally for many reasons; the place's uniquely inviting cosiness with the courtyard of its Sanctuary (32) and its hike views' (16) varied and high drama of the landscape. The fact that taxis and buses have this romantic Sanctuary (32) as the end station at the mountain's base makes this secluded and charming mountain town even more convenient as a magnificent and irresistible attraction for families and genuinely adventurous hikers. Here, the landscape of the lost dreams uncovers the high drama that constitutes the adventure's core, with breathtaking miles of highland ranges and the most beautiful, mysteriously cosy twilight Canyon (B) - (14) high and its bright slopes, trails towards its open and spacious depth of the glade at the tributary gorge (36) - (14).

Grandiose View-Points for Picnics

View-points from the Era of Dreams
The high viewpoint on the outermost plateau ledge (16) offers stunning views, accompanied by a seductively blooming fragrance. However, this mountain exploration offers a somewhat thrilling experience with a hint of demands. Since the substantial rise on the mountain's southern hillside offers several wonderful and exciting rest stops, it's a relatively gentle route [A] - (16) for the sporty people. With magnificent scenery, this Highland offers an excursion that captures its typical mountain freshness within an enchanting terrain.

A High Plateau Of Exciting  Adventures

Ruins and Trees from the Lost Aeons
However, for visitors with an active outdoor life, this mountain's undulating hillside lures with pleasure for exploring historical surprises, including old Italian fortifications (38) - (B) and trees with a surprisingly dignified furrowed patina. For those who want a wild and mysterious experience, Juniper Forest is a nearly 50-year-old forest of unique Juniperus procera trees just east of point (16). This indigenous Juniperus procera forest (40) is close but still hidden behind a gentle ridge from this viewpoint (16) and on the eastern slope, where it presents a primaeval wilderness.

A Sanctuary of Beauty and Serenity

Among Purging Spring-Water

The valley [A] is located just down the eastern hillside after passing Entoto Kidane Mehret (1) and the Sanctuary (32). This route begins with a somewhat hidden path (5) beneath the wall of the Sanctuary (32), offering an inviting route with numerous follow-up options. The charmingly veiled path (5) constitutes its concealed way just beneath the walls of Entoto Kidane Mehret's Sanctuary (32) and continues high above the gorge, and soon, with a traditional bridge, all just some steps downhill from the Sanctuary (32). Further, this valley [A] invites gentle walks toward the family picnic and games at the Italian reservoir (19). This underground water technology (19) is easily accessible via an inviting, undulating, and charmingly curved path located at the foot of the mountain, to the right of the map's valley sign [A]. The bridge here is also the natural path for those seeking a more dramatic hike towards the high plateau, with the first passing point (37) located just a few steps up on the left after crossing the bridge.

Entoto Kidane Meheret
Entoto Kidane Mehret,s (1) base for the wild and adventurous hikes, falls naturally for many reasons; the most significant reason is the place's uniquely inviting cosiness and the varied and high drama of the landscape. Entoto Kidane Mehret's Sanctuary (32) appears, thanks to its serene, natural, mountainous location, majestic and extensive yet invitingly cosy and soothing, with an architecture that charmingly seems embedded by the mighty Juniper trees. Furthermore, buses and taxis frequently stop at Entoto Kidane Mehret before turning downhill within a few minutes towards Shero Meda.

Location and Transportation
Therefore, regular cab and bus services to the Shero Meda (Shiromeda) station and society are available, extending further to the central part of the Capital. This northern outskirt of the Capital offers surprising topographical accessibility, both to the attractive settlement's traditional facilities and a gateway to the beauty of the mountain massif, where Entoto Park (Z) entices with amusement, Entoto Maryam (43) with historical culture or Entoto Kidsne Mehret (1) with beauty, as the Sanctuary (32) or wilderness just beyond.

Exciting Exploration with Picnic and Waterfall

The Assistance Of Path Directions [A] - (B)
The relatively high-lying, picnic-inspiring grass glade at (38) - (B), with its hidden rock fortress, evokes a sense of anticipation by being closely connected to the waterfall of the first precipice above Entoto Kidane Mehret (1). However, the waterfall is usually very inviting in its flow because its power is tempered by a harmonious weir with a spillway overflow. The superficial water-conducting metal pipe (37) - [A] assists in finding the trail towards the cosy cliff-hanger meadow at the underground fortress (38) - (B). With its apparent suitability, the mountain hike begins on the slope above the valley [A], where the water-conducting metal pipe (37) makes the path easy to follow, allowing one to reach a pleasantly high level on the mountain's shoulder. The route splits into two options at the pipeline's high northern bend, just to the right of (38) - (B), where the uphill, steeper path is typically followed by most hiking routes. Just before the Italian fortification (38) - shown within the map loop (B) - a theatrical view and potentially dangerous abyss appear a few metres to the left of the path. This precipitous view is located in the lower section of the map circle (B).

Entoto Kidane Mehret's concealed path
The hidden path between the Sanctuary and the gorge runs attractively behind Entoto Kidane Mehret (32), in a concealed curve below its wall, and passes through a small part of the village before the path (5) opens along a deep ravine and finishes with a downhill towards a traditional bridge. This bridge crosses over the sculptural gorge within which the valley [A] is the natural start for more dramatic hikes towards the high plateau by the first passing point (37) - (B) or (19), where (16) is highly situated while (19) -  [A] is near and family cosy.

Shops for Picnics and Adventures
The most necessary amenities for the Park's experience, including picnics and a candy shop, are located across the bus or taxi stop from the communities (1), (43), and (Z). For those who rise very early in the morning, there is a small shop at the beginning of the Juniper forest, just next to the health spring with its associated buildings (31). A Graceful Invitation tthe Waiting Adventures

Towards the Fresh Well-Fragrance of Highland
Despite the harsh highland air, a prudent choice of hiking route can be an inviting, captivating, and comfortable experience. However, a pleasant highland hike requires care and caution, with regular rest and refreshment, which can be obtained from the rugged water bottle in the rucksack. However, underneath the valley [A] and just after the handcrafted bridge rises, the mountain's slope continues upwards towards Entoto's high plateau, often with secret places of pure serenity, and breathtaking views of beautiful heights. Well-fragrant and aesthetically unforgettable, these paths from Entoto Kidane Mehret's valley, as shown in the map square [A], are alluring, leading to a lovely promenade and the water source (19). Not far above this gorgeous valley, [Aawaits the exploration of the Canyon, as shown on map circle (B) and towards (14), where the trails rise to breathtakingly sublime heights of aesthetically unforgettable dream paths. The endemic Juniper trees at the brook in the photo just below are located on the outer rim of the high plateau, just above the Canyon's abyss (14).

Seasons for Wonderful Picnicking and Hiking
The High Plateau with Spring Water and Bath
Caution: Rainy Seasons and Climate
** Caution for Thunderstorms' Deluges
Adventure History: "Entoto's climate during the rainy season was far from pleasant, for it suffered from many storms. A French traveller, Jules Borelli, states that it was a place of much lightning, thunder and fog, while his compatriot, Charles Michel, remarked that ''exposed to the wind, difficult to access, and without drinking water'' (Ibid, p.103).

Photographs Among Highland Brooks
These photos of water-filled streams and cascading waterfalls were taken just above Bees' Cliff (14) at Entoto's southern highland plateau from early October to mid-November. Therefore, it has been about one to two months since the long rainy season ended when these active water sports photographs were captured. Although any earlier date for baths allure, they must come with care for the water's torrential forces.

Harmonious Currents Along the Brooks and Rivers

**Caution During Rainy Seasons

Since all streams around Entoto run up within a short distance to the highest part of the plateau, there is no risk of being surprised by the magnitude of a remotely accumulated sudden river flow from an unknown range. There is no known weakness in the deep rock pools that could constitute a magazined water mass just waiting to break through a weak point in the cliff bottom. However, no one should walk along riverbanks or their ravine edges after heavy rain, as this poses an immediate danger to life. A mistake on slippery ground can be fatal, despite the person's caution about the fast water's devastating forces. This torrential force along the riverbanks can quickly carry a person or their pet beyond rescue, driven by the relentless power of rushing water. Therefore, it is crucial to offer a gentle and exquisite excursion, even during the brief periods of clear weather amidst the seasonal deluges. At Entoto Kidane Mehret (1), this place (19) provides an excellent and cosy invitation to gain an initial practical view of an underground reservoir and water technologies with a comfortable little walk obtained just to the right of the bridge, following the path (5) - [A] - (19).

The High Plateau's Waterfalls Amidst Rock Prongs

The Mystiques' Adventure Of the High Plateau
The actual waterfall and the abyss are still here, hidden but
respectfully close, only some metres behind the view of
the bath photo. However, this lofty concealed rock vault
is a staggering sight and a mysteriously cosy dwelling
with a secret vault high above the Canyon's abyss.

Here appears the Canyon's waterfall, as shown in the map loop (14), and the high plateau's panhandle at the viewpoint (16), making it irresistible to explore the landscape of the map loop (B) - (14) - (16). A gentle, meandering brook just above the abyss of Bees' Cliff (14) attracts the scene of naturally shaped cliff weirs, appearing in stairway formations within natural cliff pools. Soon, after these natural pools, the brook continues, and within a few 10 metres, the stream vanishes into a rock vault and a potentially dangerous waterfall with a dramatic abyss. This brook appears just within the map circle (14), located at the eroded road (41) and the continuation of the trail (42) towards Entoto Natural Park (Nursery) 34.

Bath-Cataract Vault Above the Canyon's Abyss
However, this lofty cliff-hanger bath, hidden within its concealed rock vault, is a real challenge. With a staggering sight over the Canyon below, this mysteriously cosy secret rock chamber is the place for ultimate adventure. Therefore, Caution: People sensitive to heights should only climb into this mountain vault if they are double-secured with harnesses and other equipment. This cliff dwelling is part of Bees' Cliff (14), where its abyss constitutes a hidden, unknown void that can pose a real danger and does not allow direct, easy access from either the east or west sides of the gorge's slopes.

Wildlife, Views and Meandering Brooks

The High Plateau's Brooks & Landscape |
Caution: Rainy Seasons and Climate
Natural Rock Pools above the Abyss
The picture to the right shows a natural pool a few steps above the concealed vault. The scene of the waterways at the southern rim ledge of the high plateau is reminiscent of an invitingly wild and deep rock bath. The location of this bath is within the upper section of the map loop (14), with the hidden waterfall chamber, where the amusing cataract entices you for a hilarious extreme adventure. The scene is reminiscent of invitingly wild rock baths but in nearly shocking proximity to the breathtaking view above the Canyon's abyss (14).

The High Plateau's Pools and Brooks
These baths are just a few steps above the hidden stone chamber, which forms the northern preamble to the Canyon's abyss and Bees' Cliff (14). This unique rock pool, located at the southern rim of the high plateau, features an oddly cosy and rather deep-cut bath, situated just a few steps above the hidden mountain vault above Bees' Cliff (14) and its abyss. On this occasion, it has been just over a month since any rainfall during the rainy season with its highly hazardous water flows.

The Dramatic Beauty and Adventure Of the Highlands

With Great Wildlife Views and Meandering Streams
The landscape of the high plateau's outer ledge, as shown in the map loop (14), is breathtaking in its natural beauty and drama, situated just at the breakpoint between the Canyon's dramatic abyss and the high plateau. Thus, this rock massif, with its abyss and waterfall, initiates the high plateau landscape, as shown in the map circle (14), characterized by its dramatic beauty and cliff-hanger, Bees' Cliff, located at the centre of the map's sphere (14). This initiation to the high table offers a glimpse over its brook (41-42), shown within the upper part of the map circle (14). Magnificently beautiful, this place appears in the picture above, offering a fantastic panoramic view of the meandering stream and many characters in the landscape. When the scene turns south, the abyss Bees' Cliff (14), the river's further meandering becomes intuitively felt through the profound cooling airflow rising from the unknown abyss below the field of view. Especially startling here is, therefore, the location of this place, the tributary (36), shown within the lower section of the map loop (14), which invites a careful study of Hyenas that much appreciate the site's freshness and natural wealth.

The Canyon's Trails Deliver Beauty and Assistance
The open, pleasant contact with the lush hillsides of the Canyon's high-slope paths leads towards the high plateau, beginning at the upper part of the map loop (B). The more open points of this mysterious twilight cleft are excellent places for the well-equipped family. This Canyon is unforgettable, even thrilling in twilight adventures, albeit this Canyon most often comes with the most pleasant magical mountain views by first hike up to the ridge of the Canyon's slope (39) - (B) - (36) - (14), where cosy picnic places offer an utterly captivating Nature.

** CAUTION: Season Limited Canyon Hiking (B) - (14)
After several months have passed since the last rainy season, hiking the Canyon's dry creek bed becomes possible. Indeed, the Canyon's twilight mystique can be an exhilarating experience but not an easy choice. Here, the shadows fall mysteriously as pesky creatures from the past emerge from concealed cliff openings, leaving a lasting impression. Hence, hiking within the twilight depths of the Canyon's cleft (B)—(14) offers a unique adventure and a sense of Nature. Caution: Wild Animals

The High Plateau's Brooks Towers the Canyon

The High Table's Wading and Stream Crossings
The Canyon's abyss is here (14) in absolute vertical alignment to the high plateau, yet concealing its feature, hidden deeply beneath this high plateau, where Bees' Cliff (14) marks the highest point of connection. The landscape within the map loop (14) is a dramatic and gorgeous where the beginning of the high plateau's brooks invitingly gentle cliff formations with baths and offer this picturesque wade (41) - (42) across the stream shown within the upper right side of map loop (14), thus giving the gentle continuing promenade on the high plateau on the path (42) displayed within this map loop (14) where the trail continues towards Entoto Natural Park (Nursery) 34. This ford crossing usually permits dry rock to wade to the west side of the meandering stream. This direction passes just a little beside the natural pools above Bees' Cliff (14) and then further north through an open forest before arriving at the Nursery (34)Although the Italian fort ruin (38) - (B) is clearly below the high plateau, its weir offers excellent wading at this site. Thus, despite its dramatic views and altitude, the Italian fort ruin (38) - (B) is still relatively gentle but requires caution with its nearby precipice and waterfall.

The Meandering Streams of the High Plateau

With the Grandiose Nature Of  Bees' Cliff

A water and rock-dwelling beyond time
The High Plateau's Brooks and Waterfall
The photos of water-filled streams, including the photo here to the left and the other images with cascading bath cataracts, were shot just above Bees' Cliff (14) at Entoto's southern highland plateau from early October to mid-November. All these active water sports photographs were taken about 1 to 2 months after the long rainy season ended. Hence, the brooks and waterfalls in these photos are fed by chilly, inspiring, and invigorating spring water that fills the waterways, whose sources begin within relatively short distances.

Seasons for Swimming or Hiking
The bottom-right corner of this picture shows the direction of the hidden vault and the waterfall with its abyss, both of which appear very abrupt over a few metres. Despite the time that has passed since these photo opportunities and the last rains, which were over a month ago, it is still a great asset for bathing and for the spring water flow on the higher ground of Entoto. But for those hilarious adventures, it would have been even more suitable if they had occurred a month earlier, offering even more fun, spontaneous bath activities.

The High Table's Brooks and Pools
Caution: Required Bottom Examination
This requirement for caution also applies to swimming underwater, because the otherwise welcoming horizontal bottom section would be contaminated by stream forces during rainy seasons, which can transport a few surprising, hidden, larger underwater stones. However, these are generally very easy to find and remove, but must be considered, as the dominant rainy season regularly supplies the bottoms of the pools with renewed rock bumps.**Caution During Rainy Seasons: Since all streams around Entoto run up within a short distance to the highest part of the plateau, there is no risk of being surprised by far and accumulated sudden river flow from an unknown range. There is no known weakness in the deep rock pools that could constitute a magazine water mass just waiting to break through a weak point in the cliff bottom. **However, no person should walk on the riverbanks of the ravines in the aftermath of heavy deluges.

CAUTION: Seasons for Hiking and
Months For Weather Protection

Photos: Above, Bees' Cliff (14) with bath and rock-
pools, Entoto's Southern Highland Plateau - Early
Oct - mid-Nov: Rainy Seasons and Climate

Rain Season: There are two rainy seasons per year: the minor rains from March to May and the big rains from July to September. The highest rainfall intensity occurs in July and August (Demissew, 1988). Indeed, hiking along the secluded Canyon (B) - (14) can be an excluded and potentially fatal experience during rainy seasons.
Water: Drinking water must be available year-round, and caution should always be a priority. Since most brooks dry out at some point during the year, it is best to bring rugged water bottles. However, a few springs in the Park area provide drinkable water year-round.
Observing: Hiking directly in the depth of the Canyon's brook bed is only possible if some months have elapsed since the last rainy season. Therefore, walking in the Canyon's thrilling twilight, within its secluded brook cleft, offers an adventure experience unique to those with the courage to surprise a strolling Hyena.

Activities and Recreation

Picnics and Spring Water Baths

  • The possibilities for activities are extensive, but the unique Nature offers a wide range of activities through the dramatic terrain in the centre.
  • Regarding events, the vast and dramatic landscape makes access a bit difficult, also for the physically active and sporty.

Furthermore, the path turns slightly to the right towards location (16), just at the high plateau's outer edge, and even here, there are many incredible stately Juniper trees. Some Podocarpus trees, see the photo to the left, found from a much previous era, appear admirably muscular and furrowed around the extensive farmhouse area (39) just below point (16), which is a great pleasure for any soul with a passion for Nature—the Indigenous Podocarpus falcatus (P. gracilior).

The New Facilities Of Entoto Park (Z)

Entoto Park's (Z) facilities and attractions are situated below the historical high plateau, near the former Capital, close to Entoto Maryam (43) on the mountain massif's elevated table. The newly built facilities in Entoto Park (Z) should inform the regulations for special open hours of this very modern and extended centre for Entertainment, Culture, Art, sports activities, and breathtaking Nature and mountain views. However, the newly established Entoto Park is in its initial phase of organizational development, which makes it challenging to provide personalized service. Despite this, there are likely conditions for direct contact with amusement activities, entertainment facilities, and restaurants at this newly inaugurated Entoto Park (Z).

    The Former Capital
Entoto Maryam Church (43), Museum, Restaurants
Entoto Maryam (43), with its vast high plateau, dominates just above Entoto Park (Z), and there is often an allure among families to explore these mighty, contrasting sites further. Except for the historic, quaint mountain town entoto Maryam (43) with restaurants and museums, the Highland offers a peaceful, undulating landscape. Thus, this high plateau offers surprisingly gentle terrain, with the Highlands' peaceful, undulating landscape gorgeously appearing, and accessible trails that allow people to get close to most sights and historical gems, even near the main gate and the amusements of Entoto Park (Z).

Entoto Kidane Mehret (1) and (32)
Entoto Kidane Mehret appears charmingly embedded due to the courtyard's mighty arboretum of native and stately Juniper trees. Unreachable by the aeons of a forgotten time, these ancient trees' green foliage proudly rises from furrowed pillars to a mighty hall of cosy tranquillity. Thus, an ardour appears to stay extended for a while, well embraced by this refreshing roof of high, fragrant and native Juniper trees. These trees from antiquity delicately delimit Entoto Kidane Mehret's interior courtyard in a private, walled setting, delivering a cosy, soothing, well-fragrant atmosphere.

A Wonderful Valley [A] for Promenaders,

With Families, Cosy Picnics and Games

Captivating and seductively attractive is Entoto Kidane Mehret (32) and its valley [A]. The first impression is enticing and surprising due to the beautiful path to the inviting river-dell, which serves as a gateway to this captivating Nature, with its secluded pathway (5) - [A]. Thus, this place is a welcoming introduction to real Nature and offers a view of the mountain massif from a cosy atmosphere of purifying water, with seductively curved river banks and cliffs [A]. With a river character of beach-curved cliffs in harmonious wave formations where the children play and the laundry dries on the inviting, soft, clean, polished rock bed, this place is an appealing beauty to appreciate the first steps on the bridge below Entoto Kidane Mehret. Within the valley, [A] of Entoto Kidane Mehret's Sanctuary (32) initiates attractive options for continued family picnics or paths towards challenging hiking adventures.

    Enchanting Promenaders

    Picnics Among Water Sources

    Water to the Capital
    19. Italian Water Reservoir
The Italians established an extensive reservoir to supply the Capital with water during the occupation. However, this mountain reservoir (underground water technology) has lost some importance for the Capital nowadays, as more significant catchment dams have replaced it.
    Mysterious High-Tech Mountain Water
Entoto Kidane Mehret's inhabitants bring their household water from this source (19). Therefore, the company is apparent from the hay of children playing and people fetching water to their homes.

Cliff-Hiding Ruins and Furrowed Trees from Lost Aeons

However, for visitors with an active outdoor life, this mountain's undulated hillside allures in pleasure for exploring historical surprises with old Italian fortifications (38) - (B) and trees of a surprisingly dignified furrowed patina within the map loop (B) and for those who like twilight mystique, the Canyon (B) - (14). For those who want a wild and mysterious place, Juniper forest is a nearly 50-year-old stand of wild and original Juniperus procera trees just east of Point (16). This indigenous Juniperus procera forest (40) is close but still hidden behind a gentle ridge of this viewpoint (16) and on the eastern slope. This hidden forest (40) and the native Juniper trees in this concealed high landscape provide an even somewhat daring adventure.

    ** [CAUTION]

The Canyon of Bees' Cliff (14) requires caution due to the concealed abyss, but the map loop assists by encompassing the gentle path of the tributary gorge (36) towards the outer rim of the high plateau at (14) - (41- 42). Note that the mountain range is vast, and the family on an excursion should avoid tiring adventure tours beyond the line of sight across the landscape. This cautious observance in the family's daily routine is intended to safeguard its well-being and pleasure, given the demanding terrain. This caution is crucial because the impressions from each place are just at the upper limits of what a person can muster. Therefore, in a daily manner, Do Not Combine the family's today's new mountain adventure with tiring, exhausting, and time-consuming trips between Entoto Kidane Mehret (1) and Entoto Park (Z), including Entoto Maryam (43).

A Canyon of Grandeur & Adventure

A Guiding Canyon With Paths & Adventure
The Canyon's Slopes Offers Excellent Trails
This grandiose Canyon (B) - (14), with its deep, hidden prongs of mysterious twilight clefts, dominates the landscape and is an excellent place for the well-equipped family to enjoy unforgettable adventures. The visible clarity of the Canyon's (B) - (14) landscape, with its selection of several and varying trails, is here utterly breathtaking and captivating, yet surprising in its ease of reaching the glade at the tributary gorge (36) - (14) within the depth of the Canyon. These pleasant but enticingly dramatic views are thanks to the grand theatrical panorama along the gentle slopes of the Canyon (B) - (36) (14), where the upper part of the map loop (14) demands caution due to the concealed abyss. At this point (36), the Canyon's sculptural river gorge paths must ultimately deviate for apparent security reasons to safely follow along the tributary creek (36) - (14). Due to the visual contact with the Canyon from its high slopes towards the tributary creek (36) - (14), a dramatic allure and a mighty visual guide appear in the landscape.

A Canyon Of  Amazingly Cosy Excursions
A Picnic Glade Above the Waterfall
However, this Canyon (B) - (35) - (14) also provides the most pleasant magical mountain views with sights and picnics that offer an utterly captivating Nature. The mysteriously cosy picnic glade with its fort ruin (38) - (B) and cliff-hanger ledge are also the water gate to the Canyon. This high ledge is the site for the underground fort ruin (38) - (B) and constitutes the actual gate to the twilight cleft of the Canyon (B) - (14)The paths above the Canyon landscape are gentle and attractive, with a few exceptions, such as the hidden abyss above the amazingly cosy twilight clearing (36), though caution is advised for the upper part of the map loop (14). The majority of the trails' clear upward direction on Entoto's mountain massif begin within the valley [A] at points (37) and (19), which are within a cosy promenade distance and very near Entoto Kidane Mehret (1) and (32). Caution: The southern rim of the high plateau (41 - 42) - (14) is near the Canyon's abyss.

A Canyon to the High Plateau

    Unique Adventures

    With Safety Preparations

Bees' Cliff (14), a mountain-dwelling lost in time
    [CAUTION] - Precautionary Commitments

Qualifications and care are necessary, as the hiking trails are either unusually varied or dramatically diverse, extending up to Entoto's trails towards the high plateau [A] - (B) - (14) - (16). No concealed walk in the dry creek bed of the Canyon should be done without company, depending on the possible risk of injury, fatigue, or heart fragility. Still, at least one more person requires this type of concealed seasonal hiking. At least 2 litres of water per person, in unbreakable bottles, is the minimum for these Highlands adventures.
Bees' Cliff (14) hides a threshold to a shocking abyss, which can become a real danger in proximity to either the east or the west side of the Canyon's precipices. Therefore, be careful and, for safety, try to visualise case scenarios, as the worst may lurk even on the most cosy days, since animals are wild and thunderstorms with torrential forces require respect. Hence, a waterlogged slope may cause a landslide, and even the most solid rock will break if bad luck and a rare, significant earthquake coincide.

    14. **Enchanting Lush Attractions Above the Abyss

Bees' Cliff is a hidden, unknown void that can become a real danger and does not allow direct, easy access from either the east or west sides of the Canyon's precipices. It is an ancient depth, a secluded, partially water-filled mountain cleft situated after point (36) in the lower section of the map loop (14) and features a truly dangerous deadlock. The Canyon's precipitous cliffs are above point (36) so steep that visual contact with the bottom of the abyss is impossible. In all their Nature, a multi-dimensional, graceful beauty is nevertheless a false invitation to safety. Through this deceptive natural trickery, the eastern Canyon's slope gives the impression of invitingly lush beauty, but it is treacherous, with a fertile, green, breathtaking threshold that hides a shocking void.

    ** [CAUTION]

    AlertsSafety and Security

Note that the mountain massif is vast and has highly dramatic terrain. Hence, the family on an excursion should avoid tiring adventure tours beyond the senses and sightseeing of the mountain landscape. This cautious observance in the family's daily routine regards the family's well-being and pleasure in the Canyon or the vast high plateau. This caution is crucial because the beauty and ordeals of each place are just at the upper limits for a pleasurable excursion. **Therefore, Do Not Combine the family's today's new mountain adventure on the same day with tiring and exhausting fluttering trips between Entoto Kidane Mehret (1) and Entoto Park (Z), including Entoto Maryam (43).

The SecureWay Back for Lost and Worried People
To find out from this enchanting and beautiful original forest (40) just east of point (16), a lost person only ought to follow its very apparent slope down the east of the valley and thus in short contact with the open environment and clear paths that quickly show where you are in relation to the rest of the Park. In addition, point (19) and further the valley [A] of Entoto Kidane Mehret (32) are very close and can be reached quickly. This pleasant return Entoto Kidane Mehret (32) is a gentle route downwards without gorges or precipices where the Italian water technology at point (19) within the valley [A] is an excellent place for relaxing refreshment.

The deep, invitingly open area of the Canyon's
Tributary Gorge 36, shown within loop 14, is
    Impressive but Evasive Hyenas
Since native Nature is crucial to life and beauty, it's not surprising that wildlife values the health of their home and the quality of their environment. However, since muscular but elusive hyenas hide under the long shadows of the trees, the overall impression of this forest can be perceived as scary and not without a worrying twilight adventure.

Close Encounter With Playing Baboon Families
The Canyon's abyss and the native forests towards the high plateau are unique and promoted in many ways. Hence, prudent reservations about the impact people can exert on Nature because his site contains what is desirable for people and wildlife, a conflict of privacy, interest, and living space can occur; yet, this is also the core of the attraction in the exploration.

Caution is here an essential foundation because the
mountain's rise is quite demanding, even so, for
visitors with healthy activities from the lowlands.
    CAUTION: Use the Camera with
Extreme Caution in Contact with Precipices.

CAUTION: Dramatic Distances and High Altitudes
Besides, Entoto Kidane Meret Sanctuary (32), with its Church and Monastery, is astonishingly hidden, tucked into the mountain massif's rising shoulder. A dizzying perception arises very soon and demands care for young families. This observation is evident because dramatic views display spectacularly beautiful landscapes over the location of gorges, precipices, and gullies.

Demanded Harness in Contact with Abyss
While these unique dramas of Nature impressions can be thrilling, they also present a somewhat hazardous situation. It's crucial to handle your camera with care and avoid the abyss in the attractive areas of the map loops (B) - (14). Remember, your safety is paramount, especially when you venture away from the comfort of Entoto Kidane Mehret (1) mountain town and Sanctuary (32).

    Amusements for Inspiration

    Among Mighty Highland Views

Entoto Park's (Z) relaxing activities capture the family's fundamental need for dramatic adventure in many respects. Concealed within the foundations of the world's ground pillars, it fulfils the essential purpose of fostering an eager will to learn, thanks to the Park's proximity to natural science. Thus, with a scientific background, the Park offers a captivating understanding of the family's approach to creating natural, healthy water and other vital biological processes.
